At that time, she gave me some more information about Maxie, and she got more pics from a Troop who was with him and B/2/12 Inf. He mentions That around the first part of November, they were at Loc Ninh, and got hit really hard and over run. He was not sure whether or Not Maxie and Joseph Craig were with them there, but it seems highly likely, as they had been with them quite a while to the best of his memory. Helps give an idea of some of the challenges Maxie faced and survived BEFORE Jan. 26th, '68. Here is Suzie's encapsulation of that trooper's story about how Maxie and Joseph were killed. ---
I had talked to a gentleman about a year after you and I started talking and he had sent me the picture of uncle Maxie with his shirt off and he was a little stressed because until he saw where I was looking for information online, he did not know he (Maxie) died that day. He said the day he died, they were crossing the base when heavy fire came in and they began to run. He looked back and uncle Maxie was running fast as he could towards him. He went into the hole and Joseph Craig who also died that day came in and landed on top of him. He said a Mortar went through Mr Craig's body into him, killing Joseph Craig and wounding him. He woke up in the hospital and was sent home. He spent the rest of his life trying to forget the war and had a picture of uncle Maxie he said he would send me and sure nuf it was uncle Maxie.--- That Trooper contributed the last 4 pictures, which are new to this album. It does us all good I feel to know as much as we can about the sacrifices and bravery of our fellow troops. It helps us feel closer to them and appreciate them more, yes? This album donated by some of Maxie's buddies and Maxie is dedicated to his dedicated Niece, "Suze" Price-Atkinson. In the last cell you'll see a youtube link to an Animation by her.

|Ft.
